University of Twente Scholarship Benefits
The University of Twente Scholarship includes the following benefits:
- € 3,000 – € 22,000 for one year
- For a two-year study program, students can receive extra financial support in the second year, equal to what they received in the first year. However, to keep getting the scholarship in the second year, students must meet the UTS process requirements.
- You need to have a score of 7 out of 10 on average by the end of the third quarter of the first year. Additionally, you must have completed at least 50% of the European Credits by the end of the third quarter of the first year.
University of Twente Scholarships Eligibility Criteria
- Language Requirement: Applicant needs to achieve a score of at least 6.5 in Academic IELTS or a minimum of 90 in TOEFL iBT. Additionally, a sub-score of 6.0 in speaking skills is required for TOEFL iBT (with a minimum of 20).
- Countries Eligible: All countries worldwide are eligible.
- You have been (provisionally) admitted to one of the qualifying UT Master programs starting in the academic year 2024/2025 (September). Please note: After completion of your application, it may take up to 8 weeks before you receive the results.
- You must have a student number.
- You have not graduated from a UT (under)graduate program;
- You comply with the conditions for obtaining an entry visa in the Netherlands (if applicable);
- You comply with the general English language test requirement Academic IELTS 6.5 (or TOEFL iBT of 90) and an additional 6.0 (TOEFL iBT 20) on the subscore of speaking skills
- You are not eligible for a Dutch study loan;
- The University Twente Scholarship is a scholarship for excellent students. Typically this means that you belong to the best 5 to 10 percent of your class

How to apply for the University of Twente Scholarship
- First, you need to apply for a Master’s program.
- After getting (conditional) admission, you can apply for the scholarship using your student number.
- The UTS is not for Dutch or current UT students.
- EU/EEA students are not eligible for the UTS.
- The UTS does not apply to Master’s programs at the Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC).
- The UTS is not available for the pre-master program.
