About the University of Cambridge Stormzy Scholarship 2024

The University of Cambridge Stormzy Scholarship 2024-2024 is a fully-funded and non-repayable scholarship program for UK Black students to pursue Undergraduate courses at Cambridge University. This scholarship provides £20,000, covers the full cost of the tuition fees, and provides maintenance grants for three or four years of undergraduate courses.

The Cambridge Stormzy Scholarship collaborates with famous British rapper Stormzy and the University of Cambridge. The main purpose of this scholarship is to address the underrepresentation of black students at the university and provide them with opportunities for higher education. From 2018, the Stromzy Scholarship has provided financial support to 32 UK black students to help transform their university experience. The scheme started with two students each year before expanding to 2021. In partnership with HSBC UK, Stormzy’s #Merky Foundation will award scholarships to 12 black students starting their studies in autumn 2023.

The University of Cambridge Stormzy Scholarship 2024 is non-repayable and will cover the full cost of tuition fees and provide a maintenance grant, This scholarship covers £20,000 for three or four years of undergraduate courses.

Eligibility Criteria

• Applicants must belong to one of the following categories of ethnicity;
  • Black African
  • Black Caribbean
  • Black Other
  • Mixed – White and Black Caribbean
  • Mixed – White and Black African
  • Other mixed background (to include Black African, Black Caribbean or Black Other)
• Applicants have a confirmed place for entry to the University of Cambridge for their first undergraduate degree and are due to commence study in October 2023. (You can check the status of your offer on UCAS Hub.) 
• Be a UK student and have been assessed for fee status as ‘home’. You were advised of your fee status in the offer letter issued to you earlier this year. If you are in doubt, don’t hesitate to get in touch with Cambridge College which has offered you a place.
• Have applied to Student Finance (England, Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland) for a tuition fee loan and maintenance loan, and have received confirmation that you have been assessed and will receive financial support. An income assessment must have been conducted and consent given to share the information with the University. Please note that if you are awarded a Stormzy Scholarship you will be able to reduce the amount of loan you take out to zero, but you will still need an income assessment from Student Finance to be able to receive the Cambridge Bursary.

How to apply for the Cambridge Stromzy Scholarship 202-2025

If you are eligible and interested in this scholarship, you must fill out the online application before the last date. At this time, the Cambridge Stromzy Scholarship is closed and will reopen in August 2024.
